As you may have heard by now, Brian and I have done our last official show together. I was shocked it happened when it did (yesterday morning after the show). It was not, however, a total surprise.
A note to Brian:
It was an honor to have spent my “second adolescence” with you. I will never read another goofy news story without thinking about how we would have handled it on the air. From New Haven to Hamden to Florida to Hamden to Milford, it has been the ride of a lifetime. You are one of the funniest people I’ve ever known. I’ll never forget how you brought muffins to our first show together in March of 1985. I was so hungry that morning. That was right before you forgot my name during the first break.
I look forward to being a better friend to you than I was a partner.
To all of you who have listened over the years, I cannot express in words what your support has meant to me. You have made it worth getting up at 4:15. You’re a second family.
To the other wonderful people I’ve worked with, thanks for everything you’ve done. I will always remember you, and I hope we can work together in the future.
I must not forget our kind sponsors. Thanks to you I live in a really nice house. I also have many fancy sportcoats and shoes, and my kids have been able to enjoy the latest electronic gadgets and video games. I ask now that you consider looking into a company called “Famarama”. With your support in the future, our family can continue to live the lifestyle to which we’ve become accustomed. In the mean time, I will busy myself by clipping coupons and turning off lights.
To my incredible family, thanks for understanding my decision to move into the next phase of my life. I love you all so much.
Let’s get together soon. We can lift a few beers (or non-alcoholic alternatives), and tell a few stories. In the mean time, I can be reached at the following address: bruce@famarama.com
Thanks for everything.
